Ziker Cleaners

This is a review for the 4th of December, 2023. I suppose it is partly my fault for not checking my clothes when receiving them but because of the outstanding reviews I thought it would be okay, well I was wrong. I will say before the bad that the staff up front were super nice and helpful! As a first time customer I did not get a good first experience. I brought 4 dress shirts and 4 dress pants in for a press and clean. They pressed my 4 shirts I brought in but they did not press my pants or if they did it isn't noticeable. They also instead of pressing the seems already present in the wrists created a new seem next to the old seem and left the old seem as is. My charcoal grey pair of pants didn't have any seems and were folded over a hanger like a pair of work jeans. They didn't clean ANY of the articles. There are fuzzies and hairs spread across the shirts and pants. None of the sweat marks around the neck were cleaned. Either they cleaned the clothing and did a terrible job or they didn't clean them at all. I am hoping I just caught them on an off day/weekend but this is not promising.

After a particularly poor experience with my previous dry cleaners, I managed to find Ziker Cleaners. Not only were they more professional, they even specialize in Santa suit cleaning and care (the whole reason I was there)! When my suit was ready, I received two notifications (one text, one email), and when I arrived, the same employee was there and she recognized me after having only met me once briefly. I will definitely be back again!

When I dropped off and pick up of my coat for cleaning, I was met by an exceptional person who was able to answer all my questions. I found the clerk/s to be courteous and open to answering all my questions. The store itself is extremely neat and clean. Both the clerk/s and the store interior have left me with a positive experience. Thank You!

Caroline was confident she could do my alterations within a two week window to make my son's wedding and knew this was important to me. She contacted me in just over half that time to let me know she had completed everything and invited me in to try on my suit coat. It was evident from the very beginning that she would exceed my expectations. She didn't pressure me for an services I didn't want and made this a very pleasant experience. What I thought would be stressful and expensive was not. I would highly recommend Caroline and the Ziker team on Portage Ave. I know I will be back.

I wanted to say a huge ‘thank you’ to a wonderful employee, Jackie, who works at the Portage Ziker Cleaners in South Bend, IN! I’m a regular customer but she didn’t know that. It was the first time I had met her. She greeted me with a big smile and kind eyes! I was stressed because I couldn’t find my coupon for my dry cleaning when I dropped of my husband’s shirts. She told me I could give it to her when I came back to pick them up the next day. Unfortunately, I still couldn’t find it when I came back for pickup. She was extremely kind and understanding and she honored it for me anyway. She didn’t have to but did anyway which made a big impact on me! I’m writing this, not because I needed the discount so badly, but because Jackie understood my situation (with a big smile and friendly attitude) and put me, the customer, first without hesitation! In today’s world, that doesn’t happen very often! Ziker made up for any ‘extra profit’ they would have made on me, by me not using a coupon, by keeping me as a long term customer! Thank you, Jackie! You are a huge asset to your company! Keep up the great work! It doesn’t go unnoticed even when it goes unspoken most of the time!
